It’s totally spoiled it for me. Million pound properties, working in Singapore etc etc... no disrespect but they can afford to restore their own cars. More deserving people out there who genuinely need the help to finish the car. Not just a free meal ticket to a very valuable car to sell on.

I watched the Aston Martin episode and something just didn't ring true about it.I didn't buy the "emotional attachment" to the car aspect of the show, and it struck Me as a bit odd that the guy was supposed to be in agonising pain and discomfort for so much of the time, but was still able to travel the World working on construction projects.
Then, at the end of the programme when he was told that the car he was looking at was really his own car, it seemed as though he was expecting it and wasn't surprised or overjoyed at all - It was like: "Yeah, cheers for that", as though he was simply picking his car up from having some minor service work carried out.
I was left thinking that it was either a set up that everyone, including Tim Shaw, Fuzz and the owner was in on, or Tim, Fuzz and the entire production team got played by the owner and his wife to get the car restored on the cheap in order to sell it.
Whatever the truth is, something definitely wasn't right about that episode!

Agree completely.Would rather they do 3-4 more programmes for the time and money they spent on that episode too.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one dubious about the DB6 episode.
I'm sure that there were a lot more deserving cases and the owner didn't seem that bothered about the car, nor did he seem particularly incapacitated by his illness.
My wife said it was because I was just jealous and she may be right.

I haven't seen that particular episode but I think the whole ethos of the programme is questionable now . The big silly schoolboy presenter 's face is too well known now to believe that the recipient is completely unaware of what is happening and the format is just repetitive " Ooo lovely car , Ooo it's worse than we thought , Ooo we'll never do it , Ooo look how good it's turned out , High five ...........
Fuzz should have his own programme on the interesting cars in the background of the workshop.

C'mon fellahs, it's cheap reality TV and anyone who believes they do it all in three weeks is delusional. It may be better than some, or most of the others but it is still just another programme. I haven't seen this one but even the wreck of a DB6 must be into six figures now and they shouldn't have gone for it, as you all say.

A sad Program that gives the impression that anyone with a box 'o spanners could do it too.
Still its a zillion times better than eastenders or coronation st. At least each episode has a different car, unlike the soaps which are continuous re-runs of last week/month/years episode
Yes I believe that most of us with any sense would agree, bring back Edd China but definitely not that idiot Brewer or Ant Anstead who is just pretentious, some of the cars he (supposedly) did on, "saving cars" was it, came up to Suffolk to be repaired!Still its a zillion times better than eastenders or coronation st. To put things all in reality we should have a series of follow-up shows a year or two later titled 'Car SOS Re-Visited' - no, it would never happen. And if the work done by this show on my buddies car was anything to go by a 're-visited' show would never be allowed to happen. Here is a warning for you all - when the cars are 'taken' for restoration the relative allowing this to happen is required to sign a 'disclaimer' - effectively allowing them to do what they what to the vehicle - and they do, with no comeback..........

Remember "For the love of cars" which had an Aston DBS on it which sold for a record breaking £173,400 at auction. When it was resold at auction later on, the blurb said:
"...Although the DBS looked stunning, he felt that a marque specialist with proven experience of the model could improve it still further and so instructed Oselli to work their magic. Some £78,000 later, the Aston Martin has been debugged and fine-tuned to the seller's satisfaction!..."
Its ben resold at auction since then.
Ouch

I remember that one - not a record price for a DBS, though."...Although the DBS looked stunning, he felt that a marque specialist with proven experience of the model could improve it still further and so instructed Oselli to work their magic. Bonhams sold one previously...

They can fix my Jag if they'd like, I'm skint but without the face or charisma for telly.I've got a sob story about my nan missing Coronation Street in 1983 if that helps.
