I wonder if it's like the Brinks job and all the gold bars are in the sides of the indoor pool?

Yep, credit where it's due; the man embezzled a lovely house.

I find that surprising after the middle class flight from London to the countryside.

Every direction but East. wink

It's a lovely looking property though so probably just priced wrong.

Buying it is only part of it, probably got to budget £200k per year running costs.

Buy a car for £50k with someone else’s money and tell them it was £250k even simpler.
Then sell it for £500k and tell them you got £300k and split the profits, happy days.

It's a big house, yes, but it's not an old house. Running costs will be an awful lot less than £200k.

Full time gardener/handyman/mechanic/pool guy living in the lodge above the car ports on £30k p/a

Ditch the heliport and build a large solar array in the field next door. A few other bills and repayments on the solar i recon you could bring it in for £50k p/a.

Curiosity - what's the council tax? Here in France you would wince at the cost. We have friends who have "nice" house in an upmarket area around Le Mans and they pay €18,000 p.a. I have a medium house in another commune and pay £2,500.

Really? By my reckoning, that makes their house worth €9,000,000.
