Some final details here. We made wooden formers for the windscreen supports which were then cast in bronze/gun metal. I was really pleased with how these turned out
These were then machined as required and hand finished. I made up lower channels for the screen out of h section brass channel heated and bent to the shape of the scuttle. The glass was cut to my templates with a polished edge.

I made the floor sections up and finished them with red scotch bright and wire wool to give matt finish. These were shaped on my Pullmax reciprocating hammer and then smoothed out on an English wheel

The small trays to rear will provide storage in front of the seats

That is truly stunning - thanks for sharing OP, and thanks to the owner for agreeing to that.

Craftsmanship is still alive and kicking in the UK! (Although maybe not in my household). laugh

Very impressive and beautiful work Dan. I like the subtle differences between your car and No. 64 above.

That is one gorgeous looking vehicle! Properly hand crafted panels excite me very much I applaud your skill Dan.

What is the car actually registered as? Will it get a period registration or a current one?

The car was built to my customers specifications. He had visited Rob Walkers car and liked the over all dimensions

seen here in the ridiculous, but no less entertaining you tube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0REAVbooPkU0

I was also able to gain access to this car and based the my design on this. Tony was quite specific in what he wanted, he wanted a relatively clean simple car- so all the wings matched-they don't on the car below, and didn't have the swage line running down the centre as on 'Blue Buzz' or car No. 64. Also for ease of access the spare was to be accessed through the tail, as shown below. This left a large luggage area behind the seats. Important as Tony intend to use this car, really use the car! His first big outing was intended to be a rally in the Alps with him and his wife driving the car from Northumberland! Sadly a problem with the engine build delayed the first rally in the car.

I'd be happy to share my next project. I don't want to spam the site with too much but if the interest is there I will post it up

The car is a Delahaye and is registered as such. I was built with a similar body around 40 years ago so we were just rebuilding what was there.
