A sad fate for the Airfix aeroplanes. Yes I have the Fiat and it has a thread in Readers' Cars.

Great thread. I’m envious of anyone who owns a barn, a barn full of cars is even better!
Why do modern cars have such anonymous dashboards; that Fiat dash is gorgeous.

Alas I rent the barn and do not own it, but I hope to have it for the next few years.

Is it the old barn where some PHer trespassed when you were at work, or have you got a new barn now that you're not a beach bum any longer?

I don't remember that. I must have been gaga on the Tesco cooking sherry at the time. I rented the barn about two or three years ago.

From memory I think I got the barn towards the end of summer 2018. Before that, another bloke had it stuffed full of serious high end motahs - various Ferraris and what not, but I think he either moved out of the area or sold his collection. One of the Ferraris once rolled off a low loader and smashed through the barn doors, but it was not badly damaged, I gather.

I cleared some space in the barn today. I may get some more photos later in the week. I am still not sure whether to keep the somewhat knackered Lotus Eclat as a project or sell it as a project. My mechanic is doing up his house and seems unlikely to be available for a while, so I may need to get the Lancia towed somewhere to get its clutch done by someone else.

Barn update non update - it is still in a right state, and full of old tat that is not car tat. As for car tat, the latest potential barn victim is a 1962 Lancia Appia. It has a thread of its own in Readers' Cars. It is currently feeling sorry for itself, all alone in a tiny garage while it awaits some parts, a visit from a man with a spanner, and the freeing up of some space in the barn so that it can go and hang out with younger machines, including a niece (Lancia Beta), and a cousin by marriage (Fiat 124).

Maybe this garage can be termed Barn Annexe Number 1. It is super tiny, so tiny that my brother's Toyota MR2 Mark 1, a very small car, only just fits inside, but look how commodious the space is for the teeny tiny Appia.

I think that the Appia will occupy the (miniaturised) Limo slot. It may take my mum to Garsington quote slooowwwly.

Decision time on at least one of the sheddy sheds: I've sent a draft advert to PH Classifieds putting the Sherpa Campervan up for sale. Unless the advert is objected to on the grounds of protection of the public morals from BL shonkiness, the ad should go up today. The asking price is a bit finger in the air, there being not much of a market for such things. At least this one has an MOT and doesn't leak.

I no speaky bikey, but I have vague idea that Moto-Guzzi were once owned or part owned by Allexandro De Tomaso. Unless I'm talking utter billhooks of course, which is entirely possible.
At the risk of sounding all Gaga (Lady) it's Alejandro! From 1973-1993 De T indeed owned MG, making BV's one of his!

My cousin Phil has been kissed by Lady Gaga, the lucky blighter (he's a music biz techie creative wizard type geezer). I have not been kissed by Lady Gaga which makes me sad.

Hope the Sherpa shuffling goes without a hitch!

My wife has been kissed by David Bowie. Twice. He is no longer kissing anybody, and that makes us all sad. My wife has also been sent flowers by each of Steve Martin, Dustin Hoffman, and Al Pacino.

Sherpa shuffling is perforce a bit of a speculative venture. It is said that people want campers now that we are in CoividWorld, but whether people want early 80s BL campers I do not know. Those who just want a cheap camper may not think to look in classic car advert locations. I could try eBay as well as PH and carandclassic, I suppose. There are a couple of Sherpa campers for sale at present, but both appear to be in worse condition than mine, and they do not have the two litre petrol engine.

Here is the PH advert.

I am told by someone who knows such stuff that Lady G has her latex clothing made bespoke by Atsuko Kudo, who has an atelier du pervage on the Holloway Road in London.
