Went yesterday, superb show as usual, feet and legs suffering after all the walking!

Unlike past years it didn’t seem to be dominated by 911s and E-Types, which was nice. Never seen so many Stratos (Stratoses? Stratii?) under one roof! Same for W108/109/111/112 Mercedes.

Favourite car had to be the Bizzarini 5300GT Strada on the Thiesen stand.

Got home about an hour ago, there n back in one day, sort of.
Calais 2am
Essen 6am
Leave Essen 4pm ish.
Calais 10pm,traffic much worse.
My fave car was this.

Abarth Record Monza.
Much rarer than the "double bubble" car.
A few others, have huge amount on other device for later.

Pair of 250 Europas.

250 GT Boana.

A "double bubble" as mentioned above.

I managed to find a free parking spot less than 5 minutes walk away ,in the road literally next to the halls.
Seemed a popular place as whilst I waited for 9am ,plenty of Gerans looking for spaces too.
Pelman Strasse.

I've got nothing better to do ,so more of my pics.

Some rather oversize wheels and tyres on this.....

Pic doesn't do justice to the very vivid green of this 95 but.....

parked next but one was a similar coloured campervan.

Melkus club had a good selection.

Moddded Autobianchis

Isdera ,a smaller car than I thought.

Mercedes brought along all of the line of C-111 cars.....which was nice of them.

Didn't know of the existence of some of these.

Yes I was there on Friday too. Agreed on the Stratos comment - and no bad thing!

It was definitely a bit smaller than the previous few years, I believe Essen Messe is having some refurbishment so some of the halls are closed/gone. The upstairs "annex" wasn't there for example.

Nevertheless: glorious. Thanks for the pictures, I only took 180+ and still managed to miss some of those.

I shot with the Huawei phone. Bringing my DSLR would keep me from chatting with the zillion interesting folks out there. Bumped into Kidston and he's charming. Lovett is starting his new venture which is very interesting and an addition to the market.
