Lovely Alvis Special (TD21 I think) at a local show today, and a nice, ex-Classic Ford magazine featured Lotus Anglia
Burton Agnes hall That Alvis was gorgeous, sounded as good as it left.
There was another Alvis (1937 IIRC ?) parked against the hall fresh out after an 11 year restoration !

Wonderful stuff
It's thought that two of the 5000GTs were rebuilt with new chassis numbers, which accounts for the 32 / 34 totals.
That's right. This morning the Kidston office provided me with the correct info. It's thought that two of the 5000GTs were rebuilt with new chassis numbers, which accounts for the 32 / 34 totals.
The 1966 Frua bodied Maserati I pictured cannot be called a 5000 GT. It also has the 4.7 'racing' engine.
Anyways: epic looking thing and pretty quick too. I could hardly keep up when it left the parking, just in front of me and my 147.

I think the Alvis is a Swiss Graber-bodied car.Which begs the question of how on earth you value a car like that for part-ex. It's practically, if not literally, unique so you can't just delve into Glass's Guide, suck your teeth, and go "I reckon about a grand, guv".

The Anglia of my dreams!
Classic struts and discs, 5 1/2" Js, Bullet box, Lotus Twin Cam.
I recall at the Goodwood Revival years ago (possibly 2004?) I came across a nice looking 100e with the bonnet open in the Pre-66 carpark. Walked over to have a look and there was a lovely 'twink' under the bonnet, the young guy who built it spent about 30 minutes chatting about how he'd set out to build a 'Lotus 100e', then gone several steps further during his restoration.Classic struts and discs, 5 1/2" Js, Bullet box, Lotus Twin Cam.
The car was for sale on eBay a month or 2 back (light green over cream colour scheme with cream Minilites), looked exactly the same as it did when I saw it nearly 20 years ago! Oddly in the advert there was no mention of the lad who built it originally, just some furniture seller who looked to have owned/driven the car for a few years.

I just love seeing cars like this and much respect to all the people that preserve them. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155499653499?mkcid=16&a...
Not having a pop at Marinas btw, I think they have their charms as do a lot of maligned BL cars. It’s this particular one; the colour, the condition, it just has a derelict crime scene vibe about it.
Apologies if you’re the seller, or if you’ve just bought it

60 fking grand?! Can get a real LoCort for less than that!Makes the £22k asking price of the 100e I saw look a relative bargain, and I thought that was 'overpriced' hence why it didn't end up in my garage!

What’s with the rather less than picturesque location?
We were doing a little tour in the area known as Dutch California: due to earthquakes because of 70 years gas mining... What you see is Western Life collateral damage. Well, rural area and all that, so the govt does not care. It's a 20 year story that is upsetting us natives but hardly reaches international media.lukeharding said:
A thousand years ago we were cruising in an AC Cobra replica. At a 100 mph as you do. When suddenly we were passed by a silent whizz of air containing a similar Bentley.
We passed it back to wave at a 70 year or so couple enjoying themselves!
On our way to the Beaulieu National Motor Museum BTW.
