Was that Plymouth the inspiration for the Sunbeam rapier or the other way around?
It is basically the Sunbeam shape after a few burgers. The wheels are tiny. I suppose Sunbeam borrowed the idea from the Yanks, as there was quite a bit of that going on at the time. The rear glass layout is so distinctive, but my cursory googling hasn't identified the model yet. nicanary said:

Barracuda 1964, Rapier 1967.
Both makes part of the Chrysler group so no real "theft".
Thanks. Plymouth Barracuda - there must have been an "adult film" actor with that name. Probably a Sunbeam Rapier too.Barracuda 1964, Rapier 1967.

Sunbeam were owned by Chrysler through the 60s so it wouldn’t surprise if there was some design crossover.

In the early 1980s I saw the remains of one of these which had been under the side of an articulated lorry. The deceased female driver's blood was still on the seats. I can never see one of these now without that image coming to mind.FWIW I only ever remember seeing her on TV as one of the blondes in the chase sequences on the Benny Hill Show. Happy days.
