Oh my that Bentley is fabulous, everything as it should be, not restored to a ridiculous standard that would never have been achieved by the factory when new. Worn chrome, weathered aluminium and old paint. Gorgeous.

History of it says it was originally a "shooting brake" body style.

I think that it was/is fairly common for saloon and shooting brake cars to be rebodied as more desirable open tourers.

I’d still love an Activa, though maybe not the bills.

Delightful 1913 Chalmers parked up in south Cheshire this lunchtime. Well used and loved, the owner told me that he had done around 25,000 miles in the last nine years and the car had won the Edwardian hill climb championship in 2019.

2.0 SX Hdi from 2000. One of 4 I often see including 2 well used estates, both of which look well used if not necessarily abused.

I'll see your 4 Xantias, and raise you a gaggle of (four, possibly five) Xantias all in one street...

One parked up the street.

https://www.google.com/maps/@51.3064492,-0.7777088...
One (estate) in the front garden, but possibly two if the one tucked under the tree by the house window is also a Xantia.

https://www.google.com/maps/@51.3064852,-0.7774462...
Two more parked on the road.

https://www.google.com/maps/@51.306477,-0.7756768,...
And further up the road, a first generation C5 for good measure.

Sadly, though, at least three of them (possibly four) are (were at any rate) being used more as skips than cars, crammed full of crap.

It's a very well known VSCC hillclimb car

Always spot something nice around that part of London..
And I know that garage well, I installed the phone lines there quite a few years ago!

Indeed. Well-heeled residents apart, Paragon is just down the road.

As for the garage, it is a stockist of a decent range of Monmouth Coffee varieties as well as purveying a line of rather nice baked goods, not to mention German marzipanlick Saves me a trip into town when low on beans as I can get them while on my constitutional.
