This is view is why they were sometimes called "The Land Shark"It's good to see that the 928 has now been rehabilitated in the minds of petrol heads, for too long derided as "not a 911". Perhaps the advent of such monstrosities as the Cayenne and Panamera has helped? Also, I do prefer the S2 to the S4 the rear light clusters just fitted the shape better.

That spider is pretty. But an MGB roadster is genuinely prettier and cheaper. Shows how much familiarity really can breed contempt.
I think that about Stags in particular. If they had an Alfa Romeo badge they'd cost five times as much and be virtually non-existent due to rust, Stag rust issues notwithstanding. Even the engine would be forgiven, because it would be seen as a highly-strung exotic instead of being compared to Triumph's other agricultural lumps.Yertis said:

Those exhausts on that DeLorean look quite puny, never noticed before.
Not as clumsy or random as those bean-cans we have nowadays; an elegant exhaust system, for a more civilised age.Dapster said:

928S in Golders Green
Cadillac Brougham. I thought this was mid 70s but it transpires it was 1990!!
That 928 used to have a thick, dark line through the middle of it’s plates and when I see it always makes me think A BANANA, and the Cadillac had quite big holes in the tops of the rear wings where they meet the top of the tail lights, I couldn’t work out how it could have happened928S in Golders Green

The back of that series of 928 always reminds me of ET!

The wings aren't as long as they look, there's a plastic extension and it becomes brittle and can break easily. Sometimes they've been broken away or removed leaving a big gap to the tail lights. Replacement pieces are inexpensive.shih tzu faced said:
Not really a Porsche fan but always loved the 928 and especially the early 80s S and S2. Preferably with pinstripe velour interior.
Quick question for the Porsche beards: what are the main differences between the 928S and the S2?
Bit more power. I seem to recall the uk was the only market that bothered to give it a ‘2’ and ROW left it as ‘S’. Or something, IIRC.Quick question for the Porsche beards: what are the main differences between the 928S and the S2?
