I think it was called the Peugeot P4, but your version has a bit more class.

that's because ....

wiki - The P4 g force is an unarmoured off-road vehicle used by the military of France. It was manufactured by Peugeot but is now manufactured by Panhard. It is to be replaced with the PVP by Panhard. The P4 is a derivative of the Mercedes Geländewagen military version built under license by Peugeot for the French military. Peugeot did not have a licence to export the vehicle anywhere else than to the countries bound to France by defence agreements.

I think both variants were originally built by Magna Steyr in Austria.

Apparently the Peugeots were built here - https://www.arquus-defense.com/ - & the Mercedes are still built in Austria smile

Yesterday I told a young mechanic about vacuum wipers and suggested the Ford Consul had them. To his credit he sounded interested and ventured that they probably worked better with the throttle shut. Good lad. He saw the design flaw immediately.

A throwback to the pre-war era and shouldn’t have been fitted in the Mk ll. I had them in my first Zodiac and they were positively dangerous laugh I’ve got two-speed electric wipers in my current one smile

Non-existent uphill wipers, frenzied downhill wipers and feeble wipers everywhere else as I recall. Even as I child, when most things were new and exciting, they seemed like a bad idea.

A quick story.

A couple of weeks ago ,a red MGCGT passed me whilst I was walking.
A few minutes later , a white MGC went back the other way , could it have been the same person ?....scratchchin

Today , in the same locality ,I walk past a house with double garage door open , what's inside ?.....the 2 above.....cool

Lovely - I remember getting a lift to primary school in a blue one of those back in the 60s!
