We had two when I was a kid - a Consul then a Zephyr. I can clearly remember frequently sitting on the front armrest in the Zephyr between my parents when travelling. Of course, no seat belts or other means of restraint in those days Jader1973 said:
I had a bit of a road trip weekend - had to put 1000km on a car so did a couple of 500km loops on Saturday and Sunday.
The only decent spots were on the way back on Sunday, about half an hour from home, in a little township that is a popular spot for people to take their classics for a run.
Jensen parked in the main street
Definitely a Lancia
So, I did 1000km over two days and didn't see anything really interesting until I was about half an hour from the house on Sunday. It was worth waiting for mind you!!
The Jensen looks lovely, and the Lancia is a Fulvia Zagato - Zagato certainly did a lovely job restyling the Fulvia, the bottom edge of the rear window can be opened for extra ventilation IIRCThe only decent spots were on the way back on Sunday, about half an hour from home, in a little township that is a popular spot for people to take their classics for a run.

Mine was pink/white (high line)
Dad's was grey/black (low line)
My grandad had a yellow convertible with a white top and a white/yellow vinyl interior. I remember sitting in the middle in the back and being lifted out of the car and carried to dry land after he'd got it stuck crossing a ford, I couldn't have been any more than 18 months old and it's my earliest memory.

Some of the 1000 Millas competitors passing through San Martín de los Andes yesterday. I'd love to ship my car out and do this one day.
Dad bought a second hand Zodiac Mk2 in about 1960, it was turquoise and cream JEE 703. This had replaced his first car, a 1955 Hillman Minx in black OBM 566.
He replaced that Zodiac with a new run out version in dark blue and light grey TJV 326. Mum then took that over as her car when dad got his first company car, a Wolseley 6/110 in rose taupe with red leather interior.

Isn't it mounted on a flap that conceals the fuel cap?
You are quite right. Used to love it as a 5 year old. Top cool points. Even though that probably wasn’t yet quite a thing.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
