If you're anywhere between Lands End and John O'Groats (and on the right route !) there's a few of them out this weekend ... https://heroevents.eu/event-schedule/le-jog-2021/A farmer near us had one of these for years and regularly used it to cross the fields, tow a trailer, take hay to his sheep in winter and even transport them when necessary. Said he preferred it to his LR 90. It was only the rust bug that killed it (eventually) after about 30 years as mechanically it was still going well

I knew a farmer who used a 3rd gen Toyota Supra Turbo for that sort of thing, it looked like the Top Gear Hilux.21st Century Man said:

Isn't it mounted on a flap that conceals the fuel cap?
You are quite right. Used to love it as a 5 year old. Top cool points. Even though that probably wasn’t yet quite a thing./former petrol pump attendant

My missus ran one of those for a year in 1996, same colours too. Failed it's MOT on rot, too far gone to repair, sold it for what we paid for it to a number plate dealer as it had a good number on it.Turbobanana said:

Presumably all the rot would have been repaired as it needed an mot to remove the number?
More likely an "accommodating" MoT tester.I remember my sister had an MG Midget with a nice plate on it. She sold the car with the plate when her first baby was due. Then she regretted selling it, and tracked down the car to buy it back. Only the plate had been split from the car by that point and she realised that a) the plate was worth as much as the car, and b) there was no way she could afford to buy both of them back, so she bought a different (and much better condition) Midget that still had it's original issued registration number. Her reasoning was that "her car" wouldn't be the same without it's "name" which was the three letters on the plate, so she might just as well buy a different car.

I don't, it looks bloody awful...add to that it's beyond the point of being legal with wheels/tyres extending beyond the wheel arches. And not to forget Series hubs are not designed, nor in fact suitable, for constant additional hub loads that excessive wheel and tyre sizes bring + they drive like sh*t with oversized tyres. The only real point of interest in that photo' is the Landy's parked in the President Parking
