COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST! (Vol 3)
Discussion
I know it's like shooting fish in a barrel but here are a few choice classic Minis from Mallory Park this morning...
Taken at face value this early Morris Mini 850 'Super' looks just like a Cooper of the period, they shared many parts and options, the only differences between the two models being the drivetrain, brakes, badging and front grille, I think they were only available for a year or two at most...
A rare 'Contessa' Mini Clubman...
Non Cooper Mk2 saloons are quite rare, many have been sacrificed to reshell Coopers over the years but this '68 Morris badged example has some nice period extras...
Early 997 Coopers aren't exactly common these days despite 25,000 being made, this one was reg'd in January 62..

Well it isn't the best photo ever - but Bristols always need to be in pairs! I assume it runs on Gordon’s?
Seen today on the Cotswold Economy Drive.
This Alpine won the French Ladies Rally Championship when new. It was originally white. It has an 1800cc engine and around 180bhp.
Not part of the Economy Drive! I followed this 2012 registered Foden steam wagon for a while.
At the start, with a full tank, one declares what their fuel consumption will be. At the end the car is filled up and the fuel consumption worked out and compared to the estimate. MSA don't allow the event to be competitive, so there are no winners or losers, it's all for fun, 110 miles of beautiful Cotswold countryside to admire along with a lot of desirable classics. I estimated 31.7 and actually did 32.5.
