In one of the car parks in Basingstoke Hospital. Two stop watches, a period fire extinguisher and no seat belts.

And a gearbox (or at least a gear lever) from a TR7?

My Dad had 3 of them and, as I never got tired of telling him, they’re rich American womens cars hehe
Turns out your dad was right and you weren't.

Never mind. Here's your coat getmecoat

That’s an ‘87 that 944 - never seen that late a car with that rear valance … they’re mostly seen on the earlier cars - were they a factory option?
I think that slotted valence was an option on the earlier Lux cars. If you look closely it's a pretty poor fit, and it has the wrong wheels as well.

Staying on the subject, saw this absolutely immaculate could-eat-your-dinner-off-of-it GT3 just up the road. It had done 20k miles in 20 years. Half cage and buckets.

I didn't notice that. Too busy writing the description in my head to see anomalies.

As a man who owns a classic with an equally hideous rear spoiler thing, I can't say I get on with that modification on the Alfa. Love the rest of it, though.
It's called the IMSA spoiler after a US race series.
This is what it should look like.

Hold on to your underpants:

2 seats and auxiliary lights - is that a tarmac rally car? Cool as hell though. Was that one part of that huge collection that was unearthed recently and sold off?

It was built for the Tour of Italy which was a road rally visiting race circuits.

Another from last Sunday’s classic show at Castle Howard. I’ve never heard of the Kaiser Darrin, but think it’s worthy of the thread title. Particularly like the door mechanism smile

Stunning but arguably I think it would be cooler to see a well used one. Horses for courses though I suppose as long as people enjoy their cars that’s all that matters.

I don't think you can tell the S from the S2 from the outside - the S2 got fancier fuel injection and ABS but I don't think there were any external clues - this car is definitely either an S or an S2 as it has the raised body moulding.

It should have 16" flat faced rims like this whereas the silver car above has, I think 16" rims from a Boxster

Lovely Abarth at a show last night.

Acknowledgement Paul Woodford for the pic, he must've arrived early.
I'd best post a pic of his Clan.
