What were you expecting her to get?
Well, I was hoping for the whole car in the frame.

Spotted a cut-down Hillman Imp in Bournemouth last night. It passed me from the left as I waited at a traffic light. No photo of my own, and I was surprised that a quick Google only turned this picture up... https://www.flickr.com/photos/co-ophistory/8442983... ...from 1994.

It looked great, paintwork refreshed, with some red on it. LWD 603E from 1967, DVLA recognise it as a 'Singer' not a Hillman Imp though, so I've possibly mistaken it for a Sunbeam Stiletto?

Singer Chamois, a kind of up market Imp that sat between the Hillman and Sunbeam. The Sunbeam equivalent was called the Imp Sport.

All three were available with the Coupe bodystyle, which is where the Sunbeam Stiletto comes in.

I think these were the options:

Saloon:
Hillman Imp
Singer Chamois (luxury spec.)
Sunbeam Imp Sport (twin carb & oil cooler)

Coupe:
Hillman Imp Californian
Singer Chamois Coupe (luxury spec.).
Sunbeam Stiletto (twin carb & oil cooler)

I had a run-out December 1975 Hillman Imp Caledonian, but that was just a slightly higher spec Imp saloon, all in Cherry Red with a kind of tartan trim.

That's lovely. Imho, much preferable to a Le Mans replica.

Belongs to a mate of mine. He used to post on here as 'jamie and the magic'.

I'll let him know that he has been spotted !!
‘‘Twas me, and yes the genuine IMSA spoiler is a marmite thing. And it pisses off the purists, but hey ho.

(I appreciate it's probably not, but couldn't resist getting in a USM reference.)

Great Dixter today.

I saw a yellow Capri II yesterday on the M5.

a. Aren't they small now, and

b. Even after 50-odd years I still hate the headlamp treatment on the mark 2.

Good work (first band I saw live - Brixton though, not NC),

Coincidentally there was also a M-B W123 Saloon just round the corner from where I parked - didn't get a pic as it was on a drive).

Agree. The Mk ll was the least attractive of the Capris, esp the headights. Mk lll was the nicest looking IMO

928 with an Amazon behind:

I love a 928 but those wheels are all kinds of wrong....
wheels probably have incorrect offset.

is that an S2 ?
I don't think you can tell the S from the S2 from the outside - the S2 got fancier fuel injection and ABS but I don't think there were any external clues - this car is definitely either an S or an S2 as it has the raised body moulding.

It should have 16" flat faced rims like this whereas the silver car above has, I think 16" rims from a Boxster

that looks much better, correct offset too !

This Vauxhall I’ve shown before maybe but the thing looks taller than it is wide …

It looks great in the flesh, not condition-wise but as an example of a bygone era in British motoring …

A sad indictment of today's style, but rather looks like the rare 4x4 version.
