Saw a lovely Alfasud Sprint in the same green as this in Stansted Mountfitchet yesterday. Can't be many of these left, especially an early model.

Spotted in the station car park in Broadway, Worcestershire this morning, odometer reads 106.5k miles and it belongs to one of the railway volunteers...

The Merc was probably considered a big car in its day, but our 'little' Fiat 500 is a several inches taller...!

I've spotted it parked there a few times. It's not always in the same place so must still be mobile.

In about 1971, acting on an advert in the newsagent's window, my mate Pete and I went to buy one of these in an unroadworthy state for £30. Great project. We were both still living at home with our parents. When we got there it was a DS19. We bought it anyway. Pete drove it to his mum's house, you know, unroadworthy, uninsured, untaxed and unMoT'd. We enjoyed firing it up and making the suspension go up and down once or twice a week for ages. Other than that we were completely out of our depth. One day Pete said he'd sold it for fifteen quid. I was relieved.

My first car was a 1955 Light Fifteen ... bought for £35 ... I drove it to Uni where someone stole the wheels and I had to pay for it to be taken away by the wreckers.

Happy days !

Love both these stories. This was half the fun of motoring back in the day.

Spotted on an otherwise uneventful trip to Goathland, although the steam trains were a welcome diversion. Not sure what it is but I would hazard a guess at an Alvis Scorpion?

I'm sure I recognise that Viper, and I used to run along those fields behind Roedean!

(Aah, I appear to be "getting old", as reminiscing seems to be becoming a happy hobby!)

Hi All,

I spotted this Jaguar yesterday and fortunately, my son was in the car and managed to get a few pics.

Presumably, it has been setup with some long-distance event(s) in mind. It has a Welsh flag on the rear passenger-side door, a Scottish flag on the rear drivers-side door and a Union Jack on the roof. What is also notable, is that it has what look to be two jerry cans and a spare wheel held in recesses in the boot.

Does anyone know this car ?
