Just found this photo ,taken during a visit to Capri in the late sixties/early seventies.
On first glance I thought the taxis may be American but I think perhaps they are Fiats which have been decapitated nd then had a "Surrey roof" added.
Also looks like an electric vehicle on the left of the picture.
I guess you're thinking that's an electric vehicle based on there being no air intakes. But that's the back. It has no headlights but does have what appear to be red lights. On first glance I thought the taxis may be American but I think perhaps they are Fiats which have been decapitated nd then had a "Surrey roof" added.

amongst my late mother's things were the inevitable slides. Dad took us to Blackbushe on more than one occasion to see the karting and once he took his camera. He wasn't a sentimental man and as we'd gone to see karting he took pictures of karts, not of us. By leaving us out I'm having trouble guessing what year it was. I've sent all the pics to Camberley Kart Club with my best guess of 1965. The picture below is cropped from one of them. It wasn't really a car park, there are cars everywhere, but it's the sharpest group of cars. Can we assume one or two are newish? So, what do you reckon? Earlier than '65?

Any minute now we're going to do the thread thing of calling them all out. The one I'm really struggling with is the big car parked immediately behind the Ford Pop (or Prefect or Anglia) towards the right of the pic concealed by the Viva. Is it a Jag?
Don't think it's a Jag, more like a Zephyr/Zodiac with the rear fins concealed by the tree.Edited for poor spelling.

Big Ford? Zephyr or Zodiac Mk3?The Zephyr had solid rear c-posts, so not a Zephyr.

Looks like an "airflow " MK1 so will be '65 onwards.
That's interesting, thanks. I shall go and have a little investigate. When BR stopped running mainline long distance through trains at Birmingham Snow Hill station in 1967 it became the country's largest unstaffed halt, with just a 'bubble car' diesel railcar local service to Wolverhampton Low Level and back, from this point on until complete closure in 1972 it was used as a giant car park, these photos by Alan F Brookes were taken c.1970 - 72...
Livery Street on the west side of the station...
(It was demolished in 1977 only to be rebuilt on a smaller scale and re-opened in 1987. Some of the brown and cream enamel signage in the photos appears at railwayana auctions occasionally and can fetch good money).
