A deafening silence when it comes to identifying cars at Weymouth in 1953.

Could it be an Austin Sheerline bottom left, or something more exotic, like a Hooper-bodied Roller? The sporty-looking saloon in middle-left - Triumph Dolomite? Definitely a Morris 8hp in the mix, and the pale car behind the Dolomite (?) could be an Austin 10 or 12..

PS the more I look at the Sheerline the more I think it's a Roller. There's an A40 Somerset there and in the distance the car parked at an angle to the quay - Austin 16 ?

100E behind the Roller
ETA
and maybe a Light 15 rather than a Dolomite ?

Edited by RATATTAK on Friday 3rd July 11:45
I'm pretty sure it's not a Light 15 - maybe a Crossley Regis?

The GS appears to have forward facing fins on the front! Back end of a Yank grafted on?

I'd agree with the Sheerline. A Hooper would be a long shot though. Definitely a 100e next, not a clue on the next one but I'll sat Citroen Light 15 next, followed by a pre-war Hillman Minx, then an A40 Somerset. Not a clue about the last one in the left side row.

Just a suggestion that the van facing us in the distance could be a Jowett.

Sorry to harp on about this, but the Citroen Traction Avant was very low-slung for its time, and the pictured car is not. Here's a Crossley and a Triumph.

I'm an old fart. These cars used to be daily drivers when I was a kid in the 50s.

Don't mind a good harp at all! You make a good point about the slimness of the Citroen but the fuel filler of the Triumph is too high and the Crossley headlamps don't seem far enough forward, Wheels, headlamps and fuel filler fit the Citroen proposition but I'm doubting that choice more and more.

What else though?

Not a Humber Vogue though - windows wrong shape. (Just musing out loud).

Waterloo station in the mid '60s, no sign of Terry and Julie, but what's the '40s van on the platform.... a Ford maybe....?

I’m not very good on the early ones. Looks like a Ford Consul right at the back.
The motorcycle could be an early Honda cub.

I fitted one to my mk2 escort rear after a crash to the front damaged one of them .. pointless but I thought it looked good.

That Crossley has rear suicide doors, which the one in the photo doesn't.

My eyesight isn't that good. I think if it's a Triumph it's more likely a Gloria Six.
