Some interesting stuff here on Brighton seafront in the late 80s: Toledo, Opel Rekord / Ascona (?), Mk I Golf, MB 190. My favourite though is the Honda Legend coupe, the one that's like a properly built version of a Rover 800. Nice sunny day too...
4400 odd Honda Legends were built in Oxford by the rover group not very well but they were built there all the same.

Through my pedant specs the white car looks like a Dolomite. Probably a basic spec 13 or 1500.

Yes, Toledo had a shorter boot and vertical rear light clusters. Definitely a low-spec Dolomite.
Not necessarily a Dolomite. The plain boot lid without the black panel suggests that it could be either a fwd Triumph 1500 or a rwd Triumph 1500 TC.

Right enough Mercky, but I think my old eyes are seeing wheels and hub caps from the RWD version as well as the D roundel on the C post. (the latter may be leaning towards wishful thinking tho').

At the Nord-Ostsee Kanal tunnel in Germany in the early 70s, Volkswagen saloons and a Transporter of course, VW K70, MB W118, Open Kadett, Auto Union / Audi 100 and what looks like a Fiat 850 Berlina...

Thanks for your support Dan..... But in fact the Dolomite base models, 1300 & 1500 were body colour C posts. Only HL and above models had the vinyl.
However, all Dolomites had roundels, not so the others. That's AIRC of course. I had a brand new one in 1977 and researched them pretty well at the time.

Back from the heady days of when F1 was about racing......a different world from the obnoxious world of F1 today.

911, E Type, BMW E3 plus the aforementioned 600 Grosser.

There are some proper cars there!

That's a case of a gorgeous collection of cars being upstaged by the transporters. Basis for a stunning model diorama?

What is the car behind the Matra Simca transporter? Can it be a Chrysler 180? Only possibility I can think of with a Matra connection.

Also, far left of frame, there's a silver coupe and behind that, a bit of silver bonnet and a pop up headlamp.

Any ideas???

Silver coupe may be a 1750 Veloce?

Pop up lights may be a Toyota 2000GT???

Nice idea, but I think you'd see the top of the indent for the big aux lights and the chrome trim around them in that shot, as the aux lamps are pretty much below the pop ups?

Yup, you're right. Had a look at a few google images so I'm stumped on that one.

The Alfa looks like a 2600 coupe, bigger than the GT. Are the pop ups a Matra 530?

If we're doing F1 backstage stuff - here's old Enzo having a snooze between meals, I think it might be Modena Aerodrome test track or the other one at Viarano...

Is the white saloon next to the Allegro in this one something Italian (possibly a Lancia)? Photo is from August 1976.

An early sixties photo with a three-wheeler - anyone know which type?
