A 'period' classics pictures thread (Mk II)
Discussion
Yes, the B2 Audi 80/90 is a very nice car, and cool, if it hadn’t been discontinued, I might have bought one instead of my Jetta GTI 16V in 1988 - as far as I can remember the sporty variants got a favourable write up from all of the decent car mags.
Quite unlike modern Audis, which I would not consider against almost any of its rivals.

I posted this in the Humer Unbeam thread, at first it was thought to be early 80's but I suspect it's late 60's. It's Heath Filling Station on the A137 between Ipswich and Manningtree. I think the black car in the background is the proprietors Ford but look forward to proper ID on here.

The early UK 80 Quattro's had 14" steel wheels and hubcaps, but were otherwise reasonably well appointed - electric front windows, internally adjustable mirrors, tinted glass, headlamp washers etc to justify the price (more than £11k from memory). They also had the headlights and separate indicator layout from the Coupe.
A period pic, with some good looking chap, with a fair head of hair....(previously posted in "P"CPT Mk1, back in 2012 it appears)
It was registered A333WNP

Can I claim a prize as it's almost certainly the first time one of these has been mentioned on PH?
Kennings Austin Rover on Broad lane, Sheffield around 1989. Hallamshire Motor Co, BMW is too the left of it. This would become Sytners and they finally left this site in 2017.
Plus a used car place, and the fleet of Hallamshire Heating Ltd in 1974. SET20N is on a 911 now, then on a hot Capri 3000. The other Capri UWE15L is a 3000GXL.

Unless you can explain where the 'Harper' bit comes in to it or from?
Invacar were the British invalid car co of the period 1947-1974.
Harper were indeed British too, built at Avro (A. V. Roe) but years prior, between 1921-1926.
I'll butt in to say that I'm no expert on them, but via my business I did personally get to know and meet the acknowledged worldwide 'expert' on anything 3-wheeled, and that was the sauve, larger than life character, Australian John Cleve Graham - this would have been in the mid/late 90s.
Said 3-wheeler expert now I suppose is Elvis Payne, and for some reason even he puts 'Harper' in front of Invacar on car pictured.
I don't know why? Perhaps there is something staring me in the face, or something I don't know, but I can't see it.
John Cleve Graham never put 'Harper' in front of it to my knowledge. Sadly he passed away some years ago otherwise I'd be asking him right now.

I admit they are elusive, but with some digging I found this Harper Type 55
and another image of a MkVI
so they appear real alright.
Can't explain the 30 year gap in production though, but if this was your product would you be shouting about it?
