A 'period' classics pictures thread (Mk II)

I always though Ford missed a trick by not building a small run of 1500GT Anglias. I once drove one that had been built exactly how Ford would have done - standard 1500GT engine and box, GT struts, discs and diff, wider steels and nothing aftermarket - all period Ford stuff. It really did drive very well.

Dads 1964 Anglia 1200. Pictures taken around 68.
He's still proud today that he got the 1200 and not the regular 1000!
Opening front quarters, optional or standard - anyone know?
Just like my first car - though mine had the 997 engine; my second car was a 'Super' with the 1200.He's still proud today that he got the 1200 and not the regular 1000!

Opening front quarterlights standard on all models, I think.
Rear side windows were fixed on the base model and openable on the 'deluxe' and 'Super'.

A mate of a mate, did exactly the same back in around 82/83. Found a mint one owner, 40k miles from new 123E 'anglebox' (was white with the red roof/red hockey stick and red interior), and put a mix 1500GT/Lotus-Cortina running gear into it.
Was a little gem of a car
Great photos of the Anglias.
My best mate had a 1966 997 Anglia as his 1st car in 1976. Then he spent the first 6 months of ownership learning how to use his arc welder/brazer while patching chassis legs and fitting new sills and front wings as well as fitting some decent 2nd hand doors!

A Scirocco Mk1, a BMW E21 3 series, a MkII Escort and a Volvo 245 but no Mk4 Cortinas with trees in leaf must make that spring or early summer 1976Sorry - scrub that; just noticed that the Dolomite 1300/1500 is on an S plate; there must just be an unusual lack of Mk4 Cortinas. Also, thinking about it, the Fiesta wasn’t launched until late ‘76

I am on the committee of a local history society in Bury St Edmunds. A number of years ago the society was given a large collection of glass negatives, many of which are now digitised and can be viewed on the society's website. So far I have only come across one negative which features cars, a motor gymkhana held at Drinkstone in 1906. Cars of this vintage are not my specialist subject, can anybody help with identifying them please?
