A 'period' classics pictures thread (Mk II)

Presumably it's a fibreglass kit on a (Ford?) 50's chassis.
I'm trying to work out what's going on, the Viva dates it as 1967 or later, big queues suggest a fuel shortage. The age of the other cars suggest it's not 1973, so I guess it's 67, due to the 6 day war? Was there a threatened shortage then?

I don't know what it is, but when they made it, it looks like they broke the mould. Literally. Oh no, it's not the same car, it can't be................ https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
I reckon this picture (and query over the car) has been on here before, unless I'm having one of those weird episodes.
It's 22nd November 1968, according to the caption on this site: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/lifestyle/nostal... which also contains other similar photos.

Same queue from behind.
Coventry Telegraph explains the queues - Budget day and petrol price went up 5d per gallon from 6pm
In about 1980 I queued at the Post Office at lunchtime on Budget Day to buy my tax disc before it went up....and it didn't go up! (I couldn't go the day before because up to the 14th you could buy from start of the month and from 15th the next month, the budget must have been on the 15th.)

Gulson Garage on the Binley Road is now a carwash, I used to fill up my first Mini (my first car) there in the late '80s on the way into Cov and Brum for live gigs and trawling the old record shops, IIRC it was about £7 to brim the tank. It's 22nd November 1968, according to the caption on this site: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/lifestyle/nostal... which also contains other similar photos.

You could still brim the tank for £7, Nij. Provided it was one of those little RC cars with a 10cc engine or whatever.john2443 said:

I can remember my relief when Green Shield introduced the x10 version of their stamp reducing the number I had to stick in each book!
