Following on from the rallying posts above, this includes one of my favourite rallying things - about 20 mins in, Escort diff broke, they don't have a spare, so flag down a spectator in a 3 litre Capri and take the diff off it.
Service manager said "Take it to the dealer down the road, get them to fit a new axle and send the bill to me"
That was the late Peter Ashcroft telling the owner that....he was Ford UK Competitions Manager at the time.Service manager said "Take it to the dealer down the road, get them to fit a new axle and send the bill to me"
And great footage there of Boreham's legendary spannerman, the late Mike Jones as well.

How did he manage that? Service manager said "Take it to the dealer down the road, get them to fit a new axle and send the bill to me"

P5BNij off topic but I know you like early Mini stuff I was shown an original A Series engine with a factory twin cam head. It had SU carbs and was apparently an Austin prototype that was sent to be scrapped. The guy has it fitted in his 1965 Mini Moke which he has owned since the 1970’s. He acquired the engine around the same time from the scrap dealer tasked with its disposal.

I remember talking to someone about that at a Mini show several years ago, nice to know it was saved.Doyliestag said:

I’m seeing a Zodiac Mk4 estate. Is that the one you mean?
I was referring to the two tone Granada about seven cars alongAnd yes, that does look to be a Mk.4 Zephyr/Zodiac estate in the far right distance

My Zodiac is a long way to the right, white with black vinyl roof.
