Lovely car pic of Nottingham but not too challenging for seasoned spotters.

Left hand row. The darker colour estate..... Can we agree Standard Companion? But what lies between it and the A60?
Rover 2000?
Good call, it does look like a P6.
And parked correctly for a fast getaway wink
I was tending to think it was the back of an HB Viva. But '66 is too early for one of those! P6 is a good call then.

Pedant mode alert! Reading station was modernised in '65 with new electricary based signalling so it won't be later than that wink

That's proper grim isn't it? The Cortina can't be more than about 5 years old there.

Datsuns of this era, as well as being incredibly reliable, were made using incredibly thin metal. Almost beer can like. Speaking from memory the 120 was as dull as ditchwater to drive.
You must have been driving exotica. I found the 120Y coupe a revalation after being used to BL crap such as Marinas, Allegros, Minis & 1100s. The heater and demister worked, the radio was good and it didn't leak water which my Minis did.
It may have leaned a bit under pressure but the handling wasn't actually thay bad speaking relativeley.
It was Mum's car and she passed it on to my wife (Mum bought yet another Datsun/Nissan of some sort). I was driving a well-turned out GT6 at the time. What put me off the Datsuns was the hideous gearbox whine, the understeery wobbliness, and the plasticky-ness.

You'd think it would be in Liverpool with that number plate.

If I may also be a touch pedantic, is that not a Ruby rather than a Seven?

If I can continue being pedantic, wouldn't that be an Austin 7 Ruby? smile

I may not be correct but I've always thought that's what they were - Grandad had one (before my time) and Austin 7 Ruby is what dad always called it.

Seems a bit big for a 7, looks like an Austin 10 to me.

It doesn’t give an exact date, but the photo with the wrecked Cortina appears in this collection, captioned ‘Pavement car workshop outside Clarissa House on the Stonebridge Estate, Haggerston, which was demolished in 1985.’
