+1. I wonder how many are left and what spares are like, though. This is from Toyota's own website - they got increasing ugly, sadly, as the generations passed.
My uncle had a silver one, that he resprayed black. He kept it right through the nadir/inverted bell-curve era of Celica value, so I strongly suspect it lives yet. Reg was BMH666, or something like, which I always thought was slightly tempting fate.I still have a soft spot for the '80s fourth generation version, when Toyota really got their act together. Never owned one. I do have a Supra gearbox in my TR6 though

Don’t think so. The Avenger was similar length to a Mk1 Escort and much shorter than a Mk3 Cortina as parked behind the black job - it appears longer than both Fords. Also the tail section seems to flip up above the rear lights, I’ll stick with the Japanese theory...heavily chromed around rear Windows - Datsun Bluebird 180 ??Edited by moffspeed on Friday 12th March 13:10

Any idea what the black car is next to the brown and primer Escort? I'm sure it's something obvious, but for the life of me I can't work it out.
I'm thinking one of the larger Jap offerings of the time - Nissan Laurel, Toyota Crown ?It's got me totally stumped!
