I had the misfortune to have a go in one on a trip to USA some years back.....'orrible things smile

Only positive thing I can say about a Corvair, was that one died so as to provide the motive power for this Meyers Manx used by McQueen in the Thomas Crown Affair.

Sorry, should have qualified my comment. I meant the swing-axle suspension and consequent handling problems, particularly on the earlier models smile

I had no idea what was under that, I just assumed it was the usual VW gubbins wink. Which version of the Corvair did you drive, the earlier bonkers one or the '65 onwards revamped model...?

Meanwhile, somewhere in Sweden in the '70s a blonde ABBA parks her BMW....

dont forget they where the first flat six rear engined turbo way back in 1962, a decade before porsche........

they dont handle that bad either, but there is a bit of a thrill in driving 'the most dangerous car in the world..'

That would have been one of Benny's - he had a BMW habit including a 3.0CS Coupe, at least two 6 Series Coupes and an Alpina B7 Turbo.

Reminds me of my 1978 model! Photo is from 1983ish so in period I suppose, parked outside my then GF's parents' house.

They don't look very happy having their photos taken . Except the one where he looks like he's playing in his dad's car .
Mind you, i'd be embarrassed being pictured in wky driving gloves.
If he was English and wore driving gloves he'd probably call the car 'the old girl'.

That was a Henna red 635CSi press car, photo around 1978/79. He'd be a good subject for an interview regarding cars - what does he drive now I wonder? Not a fking Tesla I hope.
