I just think it is a bit sad that nobody's getting excited about the BMW! I know it is a 6 series, but a 635CSi? Can anyone read that personalised reg?
Probably has the best chance of being a survivor out of all the cars in the frame.
It's an E9 3.0CS or maybe a CSL.Probably has the best chance of being a survivor out of all the cars in the frame.
Very nice cars indeed.
With chrome arches and the hint of a stripe it could be a CSL, but then sticking ///M badges on normal BMW's is nothing new!

I got a bit excited when I posted the pic, but didn't want to overdo it in case I made a mess on the page! Probably has the best chance of being a survivor out of all the cars in the frame.

Looking at the A pillar I like the idea of it being a Mini pickup with a Clubman front, probably a fibreglass one.
That blown up version clearly shows it being the Mini pickup with a Clubbie front end now, as you can see the body seam on the front A panel.eccles said:

?? I must admit it’s surprising but also cool that the obviously lovely BMW is being overlooked in favour of a Mini pick-upNot quite the perfect match but there was the Mini-based Phoenix kit car knocking about at that time. Mainly estates but allegedly some pick ups produced.
Always amuses me. Some guy driving his shagged out survival transport through West London in the 70’s - oblivious to the fact that, nearly half a century later, a bunch of petrolheads would be excitedly poring over a grainy old photo trying to work out what car he was driving…

Quite - meanwhile, the guy driving the absolutely sublime E9 is thinking that if he ever crops up in a pic half a century later, we'd all be talking about him!The Mini conundrum.... as Aeropilot says, too much metalwork between the bottom of the grill and the bumper to be a straight Clubman swap.

Second left with the King Lionels is Tony Tapping, far right by the Alfetta is Alan Langton who founded SGT with his older brother Philip. I'm not sure who the chap on the bike is, or what the bike is - I thought it was a Kawasaki KZ1000 but I'm not 100%.

MV Agusta 750S America. Crankcase is the giveaway, I think. The Kwak has the 4 downpipes all close together.
I'm starting to think that the Mini pickup could be......a Mini pick up!
The pick up had a less prominent grill than the car did. Could it be that it's a regular Pick Up with a black Monte Carlo style film on the bonnet? The low mounted round indicator units and bumper thus line up....
This pick up sold for 23 grand recently!!
