Anybody know what the sporty car partially hidden behind the tree on the left is here? Photo is from 1981. Unlike some of these archive photos, this one unfortunately isn’t very sharp when zoomed in on.

TVR?
Yep, looks like a Tasmin.

Made in Slough
Yes indeed.
I remember going with dad to get the odd spare part from the factory on the Slough Trading Estate.
My Dad worked in the power station that supplied the estate just before WW2 so may have played a part!

No, it's a TVR Tasmin, and an early one if the pic was taken in 1981. You had a choice of 2.0 Pinto or 2.8 V6 in these. They didn't really come into their own until TVR discovered the Rover V8 would fit - then all hell broke loose.

Ah, yes. Just looked closely and, by jove, I think you're right wink

(and of course the Tasmin was the only TVR offered with auto, albeit only for a short while and few made)

Of all those personalised plates it’s the Alfasud that gets my vote...

Another one in this 1970s shot, showing its ability to park on sloping ground!

Talking of French cars, I was wondering whether the mid-coloured car in this 1963 photo (JES 517) was a Peugeot 403, as driven by Columbo, but the back lights (as seen in the second photo) don’t seem right.
