You should let the owner of the car know of this pic - I'm sure it'd add to the history of the 2002.

Cherry in the foreground and a Simca on the right - not many of them left.
I don't believe it was owned by someone on here, but I should find out if the PH member who posted the photos is still in touch with him.

Probably a few more Datsun 100A around than the SImca, here in the UK at least, but yes both a bit rare now!

It might be my knackered eyes or does the one in the postcard read MWU 964M? Compare the ‘W’ to the car registration on the right in the same photo.

WMU 966M is the car in the linked thread.

Definitely WMU 966M - if you click on the Flickr link you should go to my original which can be viewed at much larger size. There's also a link there to a scan of the Autocar test.

Pleased it’s not my knackered eyes but the knackered digital age.

You are completely correct, on the Flickr image it is WMU 966M

That makes it a London registered car, my '68 Mk2 Cooper S 'WMU 211G' was despatched from Stewart & Ardern in Acton to a Morris dealership in Finchley.

What a coincidence, my mate is clearing his workshop out and just found a rear quarter for one of those.

High Street, Grantham old postcard mid 1970s by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr

But happily one of my Flickr contacts gave me a link to some images of it on this PH thread: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

It was road tested by Autocar when new. Presumably just complete chance that it ended up caught on this postcard.
WMU966M was a BMW Concessionnaires car and possibly one of their press fleet. They were based in West London at the time. I had a 3.0 CSL with a WMU***L number that was one of theirs.

What's the blue car on the right between the Capri and the Nova? I was thinking it was just a Fiesta but the nose suggests a 127 but I don't think it's either? If it wasn't for being a three door I'd even think Estelle.

Surely a Mk1 Fiesta?

Red Spitfire at the back looks to be an older model.
