Blue car as others have said is a Mk1 Fiesta,
Yellow Mk1 Fiesta Sport parked on the left, rare car now.
Trying to work out what the red car is in the top left of the right car park, Renault 11?

Those Class 50 locomotives used to make an amazing noise too!

Nice picture.

Yes, Renault 11 - early model with grey bumpers and grey 'cladding' on door bottoms.

Still not sure about the blue car, screen back yes I'd say Fiesta, screen forward I'm not so sure. It has a horizontal bonnet and a vertical front rather than the sloping bonnet and slight reverse angle sharknose grille, the track seems wrong and the bumper looks to be grey wraparound and extending down to the front valance like a R5, rather than the thin bumper and sheet metal bib spoiler below of a Fiesta. Chain fence and scrub in the way doesn't help, makes it look like twin headlamps on the offside.

I'm over thinking this aren't I?

It also seems to have chromed mirrors, which don’t seem common on fiestas.

Some Fiestas had chrome mirrors, just like those.

Screen back yes, no brainer, definitely a Fiesta. Screen forward, looks nothing like.

Anyhow, for MAXIMUM points, in the builders yard behind the car part, there is a pickup with a hardtop. P100?.
I reckon Peugeot 505 for the pickup

A mate of mine from about 1976. He bough the car for a low price in LA and then traded it later for a Gullwing.. They were not expensive in those days

Blue car is definately a Mk1 Fiesta.
Looks to have twin headlights , so not a Mk1 Fiasco ,unless it's a US version.
Could be an Alfasud ti but image not very clear.

The wheels and the mirrors identify the blue car as a MK1 Fiesta............ That's IMHO of course!

It's the stem of the bush at the fence that makes it look like twin headlamps. The front does indeed resemble an Alfasud.

It is a Fiesta though, so why doesn't it look anything like a Fiesta at the front?

Looking at pictures of Festers on Google images, I can see how under certain lighting conditions you can lose the front 'lip' on the bonnet. Once you account for that and the distraction from the fence and the tree, the likeness is there.

Well, just to put the cat amongst the pigeons, I think it could maybe - just possibly - be a Yugo 45.

My guess is, summer 1985 approaching Exeter Central.
It'll be 1987 onwards as that version of the Network Southeast livery wasn't introduced until then (the first version with the upturned stripes on the cabsides was introduced in '86). Another poster mentioned the incredible noise the class 50s make, having driven all fifty of them at full chat when I worked on the Western Region in the '80s I can vouch for that!

This, the wheels are the key. The fence/ bush are creating noise.
