There is a 20 %, yes 20% Plus VAT Buyers Premium, on these cars.......
Add travel to and from the site, transport costs, etc etc. Just one reason why I never buy from auctions.
and don't forget the unfortunate vendor also pays commission (+VAT). which is why I don't sell at auctions either.Add travel to and from the site, transport costs, etc etc. Just one reason why I never buy from auctions.

As for the generally iniquitously high buyer's premium (plus often an internet bidding surcharge),
I just factor it all in and lower my hammer price limit to end up with a total for the lot that I'm happy to pay.
With all the cars being sold without any paperwork how do you check if its not been stolen or scrapped? A lot of them could have ben part of the scrapage scheme.
Against my best judgement I might register to bid on a couple of cars but I don't want to buy just a rusty pile of spares that can't ever be registered or have to have a Q plate.

The cars are from a court siezure, they're not scrappage scheme cars. Against my best judgement I might register to bid on a couple of cars but I don't want to buy just a rusty pile of spares that can't ever be registered or have to have a Q plate.
Someone didn't pay their rent, scarpered and left the cars - Tara Springs, Pines Lane, Staffordshire, around 2012? Apparently the court ruling was only recent that they could sell them. Only way to check if it's marked as stolen is a HPI check on the reg if it's got one
