Scimitar was outed to the autioneers by a punter as stolen. Chassis plate and chassis number not the same, plates inside a 3rd identity. Windows were etched and number on them were from a stolen car. Chassis numbers on 5a's are not easy to find but it was found, and it was the same as the number on the windows

We tried to buy a few, the Lovely Rapier, the engine less 66 Flavia, the white C reg 635 CSi, the lovely blue 74 Rover 3500S, the white 74 Range Rover ( £13 grand, seriously ?? ) the low miles 99 blue 996 ( the bloody lap top froze as I went to bid £8,000 on it ! ) the 928 S4 ( ££ Way over priced !! )
As with all auctions, I bet stuff was being bid up.

Just for curiosities sake... did you go and view them first? I think this was one of very few auctions that actively wasn't being bid up. People genuinely were going a bit mad.

Most stuff seriously overpriced for condition, and the buyers premium pretty ridiculous as well.

The auction in North Yorkshire yesterday produced very strong money for (mostly) average cars

Scrolling through the lots here should show the results.

Out of interest, did you do much research into the 911? I assumed it was probably left in “the collection” as there was something wrong with it not to mention the work that will be needed to get it back on the road.

Agree with the 928 pricing, I thought that was worth about £3k

The 996 was way too much unless you're a gambling man. We all know you can buy one that runs and drives for 10 grand, so 8k for one with potentially a potato for an engine...........?

I saw it at 5 grand, and not my 5 grand either!

The other car was also very rotten, wouldn't be surprised if further damage appears when it gets moved again.

The blue P6 was as rotten as a pear though.

Not as grim as the Juniper green Sovereign 4.2 XJC. Having said that, I felt 3 grand all in wasn't dear for it. Yes it was very rusty but it was complete with a very good interior - it would be a superb restoration project that unlike a Rover, would be a 25 grand+ car restored, maybe more.

The other Lancia and the Rover SD1 has turned up on Facebook marketplace as well for a substantial premium, you can smell the rot on the photos!

I didn't see an SD1 in the auction, lots of P6's though. What was it like, I must have missed it, but can't see it in the catalogue either. There's a V8 SD1 in an upcoming Copart auction though.
