Howards old steed sold way too cheaply today, there has to be a story attached, a genuine group A Cosworth is worth far more than £33k

https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/1987-ford-sierra...

I hope Gwyndaf bought it and brings it back to life.

I agree, PC is a very good pilot. Looks like its in original condition.

Awesome thing, I remember this car from Back In The Day. Dad organised the Securicor Challenge which Phil won (I believe) creating firm ties with Ford. The sister car (D541) was Jimmy McRae’s (and later Colin’s) steed with which he won the 1988 BRC, the family still owns it I believe. Such a charismatic rally car.

Equipped with a lot of the right parts but not in the right car, you'd think they'd match the title with the description jester
First I've seen with a proper 1850GT Engine using an AX Block, probably the type 9 box is more user friendly but it's LHD after all that work and a lousy steering wheel to boot. They anticipate a lot of interest apparently scratchchin

Just to reinforce the point about the price of Scott Williams Cars...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186311069045

Description gives you the price new. Not even a high spec car.
I have until this thread never heard of Scott Williams, am I alone

That still seems overpriced to me.
You are not.

I enjoyed this in the description:

“Don't just drive, dominate with Scott Williams Motorsport”

rofl
Ex Scarletts and Wales inside centre , quite tidy in his day like boyo wink . Builds some nice cars , historics for Jason Pritchard etc , lots of modern spec stuff which to me is over priced nonsense but if it pays the bills why not ?

WOW, mechanical strip and refresh, dam good de grease clean and polish, fit some bumpers that don't look like new, bit of modern wax oil in the parts you cant see, and enjoy.
I REALLY hope it does not get totally restored.

P.S. might need some new tyres wink

Indeed, so hope that doesn't get ruined.

Reminds me of what my Twink looked like when I got it back in 1985, after it had been sitting gathering dust in a workshop since 1979.....was gutted I had to sell it on a few years later.
Sadly the guy I sold it to who was going to restore it, sold it on again not long after, when he was offered a super rare late model RS1600 Custom that couldn't be passed up, and my old car seems to have then disappeared without trace.
