Not sure the saloon works so well, but that'll be me, and my thing for estates.

1969 Mazda Luce Rotary

Yes, remove the clumsy Jap rims, mirrors and chrome-strip, and it'd definitely pass for a Lancia or Alfa.

Thanks to all of you for nailing this one.

Lancia estate wink

Does look very similar to a Lynx Eventer.

Only very vaguely from one angle, I would say. A Lancia HPE is a very fine thing indeed, and rare, but much less rare and more affordable than an Eventer.

I really like these, and had never heard of them or seen one before.

The saloon looks classily Italian but also a bit Neue Klasse.

Fun fact: the Hofmeister kink was first featured on the BMW 3200CS of 1962...and is therefore actually a Giugiaro kink.

I reckon 8,000 max for the saloon in Bradford. I am tempted, but I shan't.

A schoolfriend of mine had a saloon as a hand-me-down first car. It seemed very refined in comparison to what everyone else was driving.
Similar in appearance to an E3 BMW.

Pretty isn't it? At least compared with the usual Japanese monsters of the era, could pass for Italian. A Fiat or similar.
Fiat was my first thought.

I feel we could take inspiration from the droopy trim strip:

Can you all please divide into two teams.

Team A, please shout NO! Don't buy yet another old car that nobody has ever heard of, and probably needs everything doing, FFS!

Team B, please shout YES! Have you got it yet? Get on with it, FFS!

He is great. I've had a go in his 2CV, which is a hoot.

You've met the man? Ellie has been souped up, sounds a lot of fun. I'd like to find a nice Dyane to buzz about in.
