Thanks!
Have a recent upload with a nice variety of everyday European (and a little bit of Japanese) content:
Svolvaer, Norway old postcard mid-late 1970s by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
The pic is from c 1975 at the earliest. There is a red first gen Polo in the first row facing towards the boat in front of the green BMW E21, and towards the front of that row, there's an olive green Passat / Audi 80 Variant towing a box trailer - all three of which were launched sometime in 75. Far right of frame, third car in is a silver CX launched at about the same time.Have a recent upload with a nice variety of everyday European (and a little bit of Japanese) content:

That is also definitely a dealer not a cafe with a VW/Audi sign - you can see the VW roundal on the wall at the water end of the building and that looks like an orange VW LT van on display facing the camera on the waterfront.
No idea if that's accurate of course. (Because FB...)
Always knew that learning Norwegian would be handy one day!

So, summer '76 at the earliest, given this place is well north of the artic circle!

Interesting to read all the comments on this one. I don't usually buy many foreign cards.

There's a comment (in Norwegian) on the FB post the photo comes from that it's from 1978.
No idea if that's accurate of course. (Because FB...)
Has it found its way onto Facebook? That's not where the image is from, it's a card in my collection that I scanned. No idea if that's accurate of course. (Because FB...)

Red Manta B coupe/Cavalier Coupe in foreground would likely also mean its summer '76 at the earliest...........
Slightly aurprisingly given that it appears to be LHD, it looks like the Cavalier version as there are no slots in the nosecone.Spottedlaurel said:

I've noticed a lot of that kind of thing in some of the "old road scene" FB groups that I'm in - photos posted from Flickr groups such as the Manchester Photo Archive or Glenn Fairweather's "trainsandstuff" without credit, though the latter are all watermarked so it's obvious.Spottedlaurel said:

Apols SpottedLaurel no derogatory intent I assure you. Error_404_Username_not_found said:

I just did the "search Google for this image" thing for curiosity's sake and the FB post was the first thing that popped up. I don't have FB anymore but it's a handy source of historic pictures.
So typical of 70s Norway. I had the pleasure of living there on and off for around 3 years about that time.

I suspect that is probably not long after decimalisation in Feb 1971, so making a thing about the new decimal prices etc.30p is about £3 in todays money, but a gallon of fuel at todays prices is £9....
And was about £6.75 a gallon at pre-Ukraine invasion prices.
