A 'period' classics pictures thread (Mk III)
Discussion
A YouTube algorithm recommendation so unbelievably random but maybe appealing to this thread.
Man straps one of those new fangled home video cameras to his dash and drives round Bournemouth in 1980. Loads of '70s tin, some '60s as well.
Is it an Austin A40 in pale blue about 15 seconds in, a neighbour had one when I was a kid (late 70s) it always ran on the skinniest, baldest tyres I have ever seen. He was a bit of an odd fellow, I don't think the law & safety concerned him too much. He also used to collect newspapers out of bins and the like (probably to read, I feel he was actually very intelligent but had been dealt a bit of raw deal in life) and then just store them in his house, sheds, garage. There must have been thousands

15 secs in was still the kiddies train. I didn't see an A40, neither Devon nor Farina. There was however a Renault 16!
20 secs sorry, on the left pale blue. I may have completely the wrong car here
Edit, I think you may be on the next video. I linked or tried to at least to 1980 Bournemouth, the next one is 1985

Must have been one of the last Police boxes left in the Met Pol area yet to be removed, they were pretty much all gone by 1968/69, as the personal radio sets had been introduced in the mid 60's.I still have my late father's Police Box access key among the few items from his 30 years service in the Met.

Talking of 'Dr Who'...
well, he went over a cliff when the brakes failed.
Easy question is what's the film (clue in photo)? Slightly harder question is what's the lorry in this photo?
ps Whole film is contrived nonsense with some terrible acting. But it's good for a laugh
Hell Drivers?well, he went over a cliff when the brakes failed.
