I'm inclined to go more with Dan Singh's suggestion but more precisely, a Sunbeam Stiletto,
but it could just as easily be a Mk1 Escort.
To be fair it's not a great image when I zoom in on my old laptop.

I've blown it up and the 'bonnet' wing mirror makes me think Imp, as many had mirrors there (whether it's a Sunbeam or variant is impossible to tell). I'm no Escort expert but a few pals had them back in the day and from what I recall they had 'door' wing mirrors. The bonnet hinge and crease looks about right... but hey ho, who really knows?
I learned to drive on Mk1 Escorts, they had wing mirrors, IIRC from when my dad bought them new, as standard they didn't have external mirrors, you had to pay extra. I don't think door mirrors were standard on Mk2s, I certainly remember Mk2s with wing mirrors.

(SNM 905N and DRS 29T. Blimey - didn't know that file was still there)!
Also one of Dad's Mk1s was an automatic which he bought after having major surgery on his shoulder. I remember being mildly surprised that they were available with a slush box and it was the first auto I ever drove.

That blow up to my eyes proves its not a Mk.1 Escort (and I've owned four of them) The bonnet line, edge and scuttle shape is all wrong for an Escort. There's also what looks like a chrome trim strip just below bonnet leading edge as well which is not like any Escort.

Dandarez blow up proves to me that I am wrong and it is not a Fiat 127. Pic car has a just visible panel join on TOP of the wing. Then it is not an Imp either because, like the Fiat, the bonnet panel join is on the vertical plane of the wing. So now, I would have been happy to migrate to the MK1 Escort camp. But there's a ground-swell that it is still wrong.

Tickets warned spectators that "motor racing can be dangerous" and they understood the risks. It was an age when people took responsibility for their own actions. None of this entitlement culture.
'Took responsibility for their own actions'? What a strange concept: you should wash your mouth out with soap and water nicanary said:
