Opel Rekord, fairly rare car even then.
It's a Commodore. :-)The Commodore B was based on the Rekord D, and launched in 1972. As in the previous generation, four models were offered: 2500 S, 2500 GS, 2800 GS and 2800 GS/E, as a four-door notchback saloon and two-door hardtop/notchback coupé.

Amazing hardly a German marque in sight ( no one could afford one back then, apart from Opels which were better built vauxhalls). Also, have we strayed upon a secret Mk 3 Cortina convention? They would have been out of production for a decade and there are 4 of them next to each other! The red one is a fancy pants GT with the black section between the tail lights.

It would seem that it's most likely to be a Commodore; shared bodies, both 2 and 4-door but the Commodore has 6-cyl engine (Rekord 4-cyl), which can't be seen in photo, and also a vinyl roof and dubbed inserts in the bumpers, which can be seen.
I stand corrected
I will bow to superior knowledge, I've never seen a four door Commodore, all the ones I've ever seen have been pillarless coupes, although they seem to be pretty rare anyway and never sold anywhere near the volume that Mantas did in the UKI stand corrected

Certainly is – I think Ginetta is a lumpen thing when compared to the Eclat. IMO the Elite/Eclat is a very clever and under-rated piece of design.
+ 1 on that yes.If I can offload my Saab Convertible this year I would love to replace it with a G15...

The Commodore had a trim between the taillights, black or aluminum. The Rekord didn't have that (at least not as standard).Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
