I seem to recall they were asking £100K for it a while ago
huh? never seen an engine fitted like that?
its not really longitudinal nor is it transverse hehe strange one it is.

RS 1600 is similar, but not such an extreme angle.

The Bertone factory in 1974...

love those, reminds me of the 2 or 3 they made in aluminium? although the one in the picture is a normal mk1 model I guess, great picture, great Memories from the 5 times I owned one long time ago, 1 bad apple 1500 the rest were 1300 examples.
When our family moved house in '78 one of the neighbours down the road had two X1/9s on the drive, I found out the following week they didn't belong to the parents but instead belonged to their two teenage sons. I can't remember what years they were, but one was pale metallic blue and one was bright orange and both had proper Bertone alloys fitted. Compared to the next door neighbour's '60s Ford Zephyr they looked incredibly exotic at the time.

Have you seen the Lancia D50?

Done to steer the propshaft around the driver rather than under them or between their legs, thus lowering CoG.

The BRM V16 had a squint engine too; as above it was packaging reasons.

Could it be early 70s; is that a Triumph 2000 MK2 in centre of the car park? The Anglia, which appears to have a B-suffix, didn't wear well.

That's because they didn't! laugh

My mate bought a 1966 one in 1976 and the next thing he bought was an arc welder and pair of front wings, followed by various other repair panels and chassis sections! I think it took him 6 months to get it on the road.

Someone help the poor girl on the right - she's struggling.

Not sure why Fiat bothered with a "Superlight" version: if you left them outside long enough the weight would just drop off...

Is that a Wartburg estate? (outside lane going away from the photographer, behind the nearest truck)

Check out all the rubber- neckers standing around waiting for the winch cable to part and take a few heads off.
