a) "Fish and chips" and "Cake and chips" are redundant as they are simply the individual items added together.b) Cake and chips!!! CAKE and chips!!! How did that ever stop being a thing?! Fantastic!
c) Chicken was properly expensive in the '70s before serious mass production. I remember nothing was wasted from ours, Mum would be boiling the bones for soup. I think this speaks to something wrong with modern food production...
d) What's the special, mate?

Oh. Why is the white one a leftie? The others are RHD. Small taillights on the BMW. A year before the facelift and the larger rear lamps.

They were a seriously dull car. I can’t think why anyone would choose one over an Audi 80 or BMW 3 Series. The depreciation on them was also high as a consequence of their lack of desirability. The GX5 was a lovely place to be if you had to drive to far flung bits of the UK. Great motorway cruiser and fun on sweeping A roads, but admittedly, B roads weren't its forte. The smaller 2.0 litre 5 pot in the GX was a really good engine, much smoother than the 2.2.
No, the Santana wasn't a great car, but it was pretty competent and in my view, a better driver's car than the Audi 80 (until the 80 Sport was launched around 1984 with the GTI engine...Audi pulled the rabbit out of the hat with that one!)

Is the motorcycle combination a thing these days?
I don’t recall having seen a modern bike with a sidecar.
I remember in the 80s when they changed the bike licence rules, people side stepped the changes by adding those “side winder” things to their bikes for a while. Since then, I don’t think I’ve seen a proper sidecar on any bike.

Bro-in-law has had various outfits (as they are called) for the past fifty-five years.I don’t recall having seen a modern bike with a sidecar.

A good mate still makes sporty outfits - Google 'Merlin sidecars', cracking kit!
