Paris motor show 6th October 1972. Do you think BL ruined the front of the E Type in '72?
I see the headlights are exposed and not covered over. In a Finbarr Saunders voice.

3rd November 1963 The Beatles called in to The Windrush Inn, Witney, Oxfordshire for a 'quiet drink and lunch'. If I recall they were heading off for a concert in Cheltenham and all the screeching girls.

Many years ago, I met Ringo at Worcester Park kart track (STKRC). He arrived in a huge Mercedes 600 Pullman.

Not a Radford, it was done by Hooper Motor Services of London, the other three Beatles all had Radfords tough wink

Here's a period shot of Ringo's Hooper from '67, taken in the car park at Abbey Road....

And fully restored at Goodwood in 2019 - it was never two tone when Ringo owned it, that happened later on when it was restored for the second time in the '90s....

Both cars were supplied by Brian Epstein's company Brydor, it was run for him by a chap called Terry Doran, a friend of the Beatles going way back to their early days in Liverpool and he was 'the man from the motor trade' in 'She's Leaving Home'.

George and John's Radford Coopers had consecutive numbers, 'LGF 695D' and 'LGF 696D', both being registered on 8th February 1966.

Interesting, it's hard to imagine someone as successful as Epstein have a motor car dealership.

He had fingers in several pies, he almost became the manager of the Velvet Underground in '66! He did very well out of Brydor though, supplying hundreds of cars to showbiz folk for a few years. As well as the more well known stuff like the Astons and the Radford Coopers, there were numerous base model Minis and BMC 1100s supplied to all four Beatles by Epstein. He treated himself to a Maserati Sebring amongst others....

Ringo had an 1100 too....

Ringo also had a W112 coupe which he totalled on the Robin Hood roundabout in Kingston. Apparently he had it cubed and placed in his house as an art installation! LHD US spec

Ringo's Facel Vega made €300k at auction

His 600 was indeed the full fat 6 door Pullman

George Harrison's 600 was the swb 4 door

Awesome to see period shots of The Beatles' cars - my father had a friend who was a mechanic in the workshop at Maltins, Henley on Thames, through the early 70s. Most weekends apparently used to see Urracos, Daytonas and Espadas liberated for a run to the pub until closing time, and then an exercising along The Fairmile out of Henley.

The best they managed according to dad was George Harrison's Mercedes Pullman - had a vinyl record player in the rear for occupants, and managed to carry 8 to the local nightclub, though not sure i'd have liked to have borrowed such an expensive car... eek

Ringo spun off in a 100cc Class 1 kart and I helped him restart it. Perhaps there's a theme here biglaugh
