Ah, the marvellously inventive George Barris!

I reckon it's a Big 7.

Car in the photo only has 2 doors to my eyes.

Simca 1301/1501 was only available with 4 door and estate bodies...
Another Viva vote. I was on the N125 between Portimao and Albufeira this afternoon and this old friend still languishes in a field at the side of the road. A very elegant 1501 Estate in metallic green.

Over the years it has gone from “bring a can of petrol and a set of jump leads” to a restoration project. Sad really.

There used to be a Herald under a tarp, a hundred or so metres west of that, in front of the wine warehouse. Apparently a convertible, it was actually a chopped saloon. Never mind, probably still worth saving due to its life in the sun.

I think that's the 1977 Manx International, as that's the John Taylor/Phil Short Haynes of Maidstone Escort RS, and he was running #10 on the '77 Manx.

It's therefore probably the Bernard Unett/Paul White works Avenger camera side of it, as they were running #14.

Wouldn’t of thought so. Nose of a Bizzarrini in the photo so presumably 65’ish. Mini is on Milan plates so probably Monza-bound. F3 car - possibly Brabham BT18 ?

By the mid 60’s Innes was just about done with motor sport, just dabbling in privateer Lotuses and BRPs in F1. Oh, and a GT40 at Le Mans 66, lucky man.

Still one of my absolute heroes.

Thanks for the comments. It was the chequered band on the crash helmet that made me think it might be him. One of the great characters and drivers of his era
