I think some Capris have been fitted with the 24V Cosworth engine from the MK3 Granada and whatever the purists say I'd love one of those.
I did this to a 3.0 Ghia I had about 20 years ago, made an inlet manifold to mount a pair of Weber IDS Triple Chokes off a Porsche 911...Cracking colour too (Crystal Green?)

It would be really good if someone could post what they actually sell for at auction.

Was that the case for the Mk3 though....?
I know manual was a no-cost option on the 3.0 Ghia for the Mk.2 as a mate of mine had a P-reg one in around 1982-ish.....Arizona Gold with a brown vinyl roof.....was a really nice car. I remember him saying that it was a rare find back then, almost all were auto's.
I just had a vague recollection that by the end of the 3.0 era Ford had dropped the manual option for the Ghia as so few ordered a manual Ghia, as they bought the S instead...?
Most Mk3 3.0 Ghia were auto but a manual was still available from the factory right up until it's demise in 1981.I know manual was a no-cost option on the 3.0 Ghia for the Mk.2 as a mate of mine had a P-reg one in around 1982-ish.....Arizona Gold with a brown vinyl roof.....was a really nice car. An interesting quirk was that a factory manual 3.0 Ghia came as standard with the rear spoiler from the 'S', whereas the auto didn't.
It was also possible to order the Mk3 3.0S with an autobox. Very unusual as all sensible people wanted it as a manual but there was a factory ordered, Apollo Green 3.0S auto that lived near me in the early nineties.
At that time my daily was also an Apollo Green 3.0S - manual, of course with factory roof and fishnet Recaros (DFB 419 W)

My first 2.8i was also an oddity bought in 1982 with RHD in Belgium when that was a cheaper option, so it didn't have the glass sunroof that was standard on UK cars.
But KGT 302Y seems to have passed away a long time ago going by the DVLA MOT history.
Glass sunroof? I had six Mk3's (3.0 & 2.8) and they all had steel tilt / slide ones fitted. But KGT 302Y seems to have passed away a long time ago going by the DVLA MOT history.
Come to think of it, the only 'glass' sunroof I've ever seen on Capris was those nasty aftermarket pop up things?
Found a Silver S at Mathewsons.

I think the standard sunroofs were steel.

I had a T plate 2000 Ghia decades ago, a Mark 3 in a metallic red (Jupiter?) with black trim and the big chunky seats. Four speed manual with the weird 'side change' box. It was OK to be fair with the right amount of power for the chassis. Like everything I had then, it was driven hard but it stood up to it. I eventually fitted 185/70x13 Goodyear Grand Prix S tyres which was the Capri 3000 size so it had plenty of grip.
I wouldn't pay current Capri prices though - they weren't that great. The Manta was a far better car.

I had a senior moment there. I wouldn't pay current Capri prices though - they weren't that great. The Manta was a far better car.
My MK2 Granada and 2nd Capri 2.8i had a steel sunroof. My Scorpio and Sierra Sapphire had glass.
I had a 2 litre Cavalier Sportshatch briefly and while it was much better than the 2 litre Capris I experienced in the era it still only had 4 cylinders.
A manual Monza GSE on the other hand..........!
