£18,500 for the blue one. Luvverly … saw that on ebay last night. Bargain, compared to the usual £25-£28k ones on there …
Rust on the sill an rust bubbles under the vinyl.
Just surface rust on the sill(s) and the vinyl roof issues aren't a deal breaker. Neither are megabucks to fix.

love the Steed avengers car, also like E-types, but not the wheels so far in the body... so I like E-types that are upgraded so to speak, like some looks of race cars lightweights.

also like this pictures somebody posted, just wow, why don't they make a few more, but then I guess those would cost 700-800k, maybe then a good -Tribute -Recreation -Evocation of such to keep it under 100k incl a great engine and so on all in driving

THE best car design of all time imho.

Difficult to know where to start with that!

1 badged as a 250 V8 but has the deeper 'early' bumpers
2 centre instrument panel walnut timber, should be black fabric
3 those awful ;wire' wheels
4 K and N air 'filters'
5 perforated leather seat centres.
6 gearbox swap is probably a Getrag from a M30 engined E24/E28/E32 BMW....Manners did a 'kit'

That will do for starters!

The bottoms of the doors are in trouble as well.

£17k is decent original 3.4 Jaguar money now if you don't dive in and buy the first one you see,

Anything 240 or Daimler that isn't 'right' is ten grand and change.

Found this photo on my Facebook page from years ago showing just how small an S1 looks compared to modern cars.

Too long for my garage though frown

I'm sure that used to belong to Breadvan72, late of this parish.

Funny you should say that, I thought the same thing. It encouraged me to buy one at the same time, bit of a shed, wish I had kept it.

Mine.

Rover P6 carbs with manual choke, electronic ignition, drove magnificently.

Sadly was falling apart, I let it go, I wish I'd kept it and spent the money sorting it.

What a lovely charismatic thing it is.

Trivial observation - I like the font used on those period plates with the unusual 8s, there were a lot of subtle variations in those days and they were all legal wink

Anglia Car Auctions on Sunday just gone.....£660 all in. A late 4.2 injection, a runner I think.

It's scrap, but invaluable as a source of spares.

Considered buying that, but I definitely don't need another rusty old XJ sitting around rofl

That car has been for sale on and off for years. Started at a "specialist" dealer at £30k plus. I don't think it has a five speed gearbox but may be wrong.

I saw the car three years or more ago. Someone has spent an awful lot of money on restoration but unfortunately they've had their pants down by a sub-standard company. The current owner bought the car after restoration and paid strong money for it.

He's an elderley chap and not in the best of health and has been trying to sell it for years.

Update. Just found this video of when it was for sale at the dealers.

Pressed ali if I recall correctly.

I have an admission to make, I've been trying to buy it back, no luck raising the buyer tho.

Its a 2.8, shorter diff and better autobox than the 4.2, great round town.

Everytime I pulled away I felt like a bank robber.

If my old green Daimler was parked next to my P6 Estate and I had to choose one I'd sit there looking at both for a very long time, unable to choose.

The ride height is all wrong too.

How is it even possible to get it so high, surely the rear springs are a standard size ?

I’d be surprised if it makes their estimate (which is pretty wide!)

True. Depends on the extent of the KWE 'enhancements', I guess. Manual gearbox conversion so could be quite different from standard.
