that sounds interesting Nigel! (never heard of a Taunus but i know of the yankee Taurus if that is what you mean!)
Nope it was a Taunus - put that single word into Google Image and you'll see an image of a green one, the one I saw on the M25 was as near as damn it good

Taunus, Granada and Escorts of the 70s are appealing.

I want a 2.8 in orange.

This was my second car from about 1980, not a 2.8 though!!

I'm still seeing lots of daily drivers including Hillman Hunter, Allegro, MKI and MKII Escorts, Viva HB and HC, Wolseley 6/110, old Plymouths but no 'cool' classics yet.

It is New Zealand and the cars have lasted longer here - must be the lack of salt on the roads.

The taunus also spawned this rather pretty Michelotti-esque coupe from Italian coachbuilders OSI:

Pretty rare, I've yet to see one.

Spotted a black Ford Model A hot rod in Nottingham yesterday. RAC plate checker says it is a 1938, but who knows! Very distinctive vehicle thumbup

I was out a little while ago in the MGF when I parked alongside this car that had just popped out to the shops. A 1930 Ford Model A IIRC.

Also saw two Datsun 240Z's this week.

VW Karmann Ghia conv,
Was his an orange LHD? Passed him today. I think it belongs to a RAF chap I was at school with. An ex used to have one too, but sold on a couple of year ago, went down south iirc.
