Not checked in here for ages, but found this in the attic of my grandparents old house. This is a picture of my great grandads car, circa 1920

It's an AC.

Not sure of the exact model, but possibly a '12hp Tourer' (1920-27).
Yes, that's an AC 12. In this configuration, it's sometimes described as a "Royal Roadster".
Built in the late 1920's, while AC Cars was under the control of S.F. Edge, the later versions are badged as "Acedes".
The spare was usually mounted on the offside, so the car in the pic may have two.

Here's one currently for sale by AC Heritage at Brooklands: https://www.acheritage.co.uk/carsforsale3.html
Thanks both. I was stumped!

Amazing photos of those trains on suburban streets! i don't think H&S would have been offended today, rather the early retired curtain twitchers and other lightly-occupied persons. Can you imagine the indignant letters to the local council about noise?

Two more pics found

My granny outside their house (which is where we've found the images, and still own)

And Bluebell - my other great grandads car which was sold when he died in 1958.

Apparently the bow was added when they sold it to somebody, but my grandparent also used it as their wedding car. This is the only pic I have atm.

Excuse my ignorance but I'm not particularly good with really old cars but I assume its a Bentley of some description? I wonder what happened to Bluebell, BBK 225.

Re the first picture of the AC, someone mentioned the spare wheel was on the wrong side. Having looked closer it seems the image is reversed, as the steering wheel is also on the wrong side. I'm quite surprised at the current value of them too, under 20k for the linked one above. Is that due to a lack of following? It seems only 850 were built.

A bit more prosaic than a Bentley - it's a Standard Light 12 Saloon from the mid-1930s

Steam locomotive makes its way down 5th Street in Lafayette, Indiana, very late 1930's or early 1940's.

Last year we took the Bernina Express from Tirano in Italy. A trip I can thoroughly recommend.

The train travels through the town of Tirano before heading off to Italy. A stock photo is shown below

The engine for that model was designed by John Weller in 1919 and a developed version of it was still being fitted to AC Ace sports cars up to 1963. Almost certainly one of the most enduring engines in automotive history.

I'm not really a fan of pre-war, but that seems to be a lot of car for the money, as is the Light 12 elsewhere on this thread.

A Ford Anglia (obviously), but not a 105e. That's an Anglia 'Super' 123e; 1200cc, bigger (drum) front brakes, two-tone paint, a bit of extra chrome, and carpets (not available in the deluxe model!)

Brilliant details, thanks.

Another one for you. My granny at the front, circa 1925, with her dad in the driving seat. What's the car?

The radiator certainly looks like a Ford. Probably a Model T but I assume there are several types.

Yes Model T Ford and I'd say probably UK built as it's RHD.

Two of my Dad's cars

Healey 3000. He had two of these. I hired one for my 60th birthday. Don't know how people had them as their only car

Fiat 124 Coupe. My dad was driving back from dropping off my sister at the station. He could see the Viva was not going to make the bend so mounted the pavement.

He was an early adopter of seat belts so had only bruises.

"Viva fails to make bend" shocker.

Lambretta Li series II, can't says if 125cc or 150cc, most likely 150cc as they were more popular. Not 175cc TV models and no dampers on forks.

Nice. Thanks.
