How about a 'period' classics pictures thread

Almost, it's 7th Ave and W 49th. You can see the 7th Ave sign and the address of the Men's clothing place of 201 W 49th. The Ambassador theatre is still there, but just about every building in the foreground appears to have gone.
Yes, I think I started there but the google view from the junction is so different and it covers the hotel up, so no common reference.Lovely shots, though, hoping for more. Sadly for me another car boot sale season has come and gone without finding a mass of old slides, so I have nothing to post.

This car now resides in the Rodger Dudding collection in Potters Bar along with 22 other Lagonda's.http://www.studio434.co.uk/Aston-Martin-Lagonda-Se...
I've had a tour around the place and it's pretty impressive.

Is that a large duck resting its bill on the Moggy door?
There's an old boy in a trilby driving with his white shirt clad arm out of the window which looks like the duck's bill, and a black spot on the wall behind which looks like one of the eyes. I had to blow it up to prove to myself that it wasn't Donald Duck driving!!Dapster said:

People often drove with their elbow sticking out because the cars were so narrow it was the easiest thing to do. Plus it made you look like Joe Cool.
Anyone else remember when people used to prop up the roof in case it collpased? Drive with the elbow on the open window and a hand stuck up holding onto the top of the window opening?

Although I've never owned a TVR, a late 60s or early 70s Tuscan - or even a Vixen - is very high on my 'One Day' List.theadman said:

Great pictures Crosswise.
Very surprised to see what appears to be a Humber Super Snipe in the New York shot (on right behind the yellow cab)!!

There is a thread about a Vixen on PH, some chap found his dads. Worth digging out if you can find it with the sparse details supplied. Couldn't even tell you the guys username.
A great read indeed! https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
