Early 80s again, neighbours company car and our VW Camper behind. Not dads normal choice of vehicle but I think it came as part of a deal on a bike! It was going to be the next big thing but one fishing trip and it was quickly moved on!
As a bit of a Ford, and in particular Capri, fanboy back in the late 70's early 80's I had 3, one after the other. Started with a 1.6GL at 18 years old, stuck some shiny chrome wheels on it before seeking more power in the Silver 2.0S, pictured alongside my Dad's Mk3 Cortina 2000E auto.
Finally progressed to the 3.0S which was only about 18 months old when I got it and fairly tail happy as I remember.
Sadly I only had it about a year before selling it to give me the money for the deposit on my first house just after I got married.
A good friend of mine who I have know since 1985 and who is 20 years my senior, started a motor repair business with his neighbour and best friend (the chap 1st from the left on the bikes) in 1974. They worked from the back of my business premises, he retired in 2005 then came and worked with me part time, I bought his business premises since and still keep in touch even though he has now completely retired, he often regaled tales of car ownership, etype, Ferrari, Jensen, Morgan, Jags, he's had the lot!
Anyway, he gave me some pics from his past containing cars and bikes, a Sutton Coldfield man born and bred.
I'll post a few more up as and when.
The Healey (744 GON) is still about, though a colour change took place at some point.

My TR6 back in 1990 ish, it was an ex usa one on carbs. I had it tuned once on a rolling road and the guy said it had about 180 bhp at the rear wheels. I'm not so sure but the back end loved to snap away in the wet.Next door neighbour was into classics too and you can just see the tops of an Austin 8 and a Merc 200T estate.

My father washing his S1 in 1971.
He clipped the gatepost once and we discovered the sills were full of chickenwire, newspaper and body filler. So it was all duly reinstated. It was just an old banger then. It was subsequently sold to Mike Oldfield of tubular bells fame.
Our 1934 Austin 7 in 1971. my father hand painted it to match the house front door, dark green. It actually didn't look too shabby! My sister was learning to drive at the time.

I always like your Dads black Celica, it seemed quite exotic back in those days!
LOL, didn't it Nick We always felt like the paupers of the street with a Shadow 1 and DB6 on one side and a MKVI Bentley on the other side!
He's still got the Celica, along with a 32000 mile white one. My mum's Imp has long gone though!
I remember him extolling the virtues of Japanese cars when he was the only one making it in to the office on time when everyone else's Austin 1300s, Marinas and MKIV Cortinas wouldn't start in cold/damp weather. Your Dad's Singer was the exception

Done a DVLA check on your 3.0s and looks like it may still be about and stored somewhere on a sorn..
