I was going through my dad's old photos and came across this one he took at Oulton Park
Writing on the back says "Br. Emp. Trophy 1954. No. 24 Frank Defty in an Aston-Martin. No. 36 F.C. Davis in a Tojeiro"

From a read of this, it looks like this was the qualifying (the Aston didn't make it, but Stirling Moss did)
https://www.racingsportscars.com/results/Oulton_Pa...

And the Aston-Martin looks to have sold for £145k a few years back

Would have loved to have seen some racing from this era

Not the usual selection of cars you'd expect outside a pub in Stoke On Trent.

Of course I have but I just don't like it.

Say it in Maranello and expect to be stabbed in the face.

Except he didn't. He arrived at the factory that day to pick up his Convertible, but whilst the hood operation was being demonstrated to him, it stopped 'mid-flow' - a problem with one of the many micro switches.

Mr Robbins left empty handed, and his car was delivered to him a few days later.

Was he gay or something? cos he looks like a right tit or just flamboyant (same thing) or whatever , maybe the car was protesting it didnt want him behind the wheel and maybe a MG Midget was better suited

I think he was the exact opposite to gay .. that was normal attire in the seventies anyway!
