I think they all might be. Can't see any round headlights or long tails.

Thanks, yes I think you could be right... the 'F O R D' lettering on the nose made me think they're the seven MkIIIs. In some of the youtube clips I've been watching various bods have given different build totals for the '60s originals, varying from around one hundred up to two hundred and fifty. I'd always thought it was one hundred and seven between 1964 and 1969.

(I have Ronnie Spain's book on order!)

Yes I've just noticed, tied around the spinners! I've just been watching rather a lot of GT40 stuff on youtube, I need a lie down now.

This might also be FAV at Slough, happy to be corrected... great contrast between the GT40 and the other occupants of the car park...

Stirling looks happy in the paddock at Le Mans in '63, despite probably still being in recovery from his awful accident the year before...

I wonder why this car appears to have 2 number plates

Someone suggested that of the one hundred and seven built between 1964 and 1969, some 300 are left wink

The 'sable' metallic brown one at the back was advertised secondhand in the classifieds in Motorsport in '71, complete with a new Wood & Pickett white leather interior!
Is that tied down with a bit of rope! amazing pics
A guy near me still ties loads down with rope - doesn't trust those new-fangled ratchet straps !

This just shows how amazing at the time the GT40 must have looked next to regular cars being driven

The Adelphi would have been around 30 years old at the time.

I recently bought a cheap copy of John Bolster's 'Lotus Elan & Europa' book and glued inside the cover was this small b&w print...

What's going on with the strange paler shadow at the front (looks like something has been 'shopped out?) - could be my eyes,

or what I'm drink

Fear not, you'll not be needing the services of an optician or alcoholics annonymous, it's just a spot of light on the print, I just took a photo of the it as my scanner has lost the will to live!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to drive an Elan Sprint on the track at Anglesey.

Absolutely wonderful cars.

I suppose motorsport images are easy pickings as there's a vast archive of stuff out there, but I can't resist posting these, some of them have a very casual air about them... it really is like looking in on another world...

Spa, 1965...

Possibly Goodwood...

Brands Hatch, 1966...

Daytona, 1966...

1966, presumably not far from Slough...?

Sebring, 1966...

Oulton Park in 1968 with Jo Bonnier and Lola T70...

Phil Hill at home with his 250LM...

Alpine 110s galore...

1964... Goodwood maybe...?

Ford Thames van behind...?

Somewhere in California c.1964...

That's the A404M heading north towards Maidenhead Thicket. Of course in those days it was the end of the M4 which ended at The Thicket. Notice the lack of any central barrier or side barrier.
